Fire Station Relocation Information (previously posted) Related Press: Brookfield News article, 9/26/07 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 9/19/07 History: At the April 3rd, Common Council meeting, the Aldermen voted 10-4 to relocate Fire Stations # 2 and #3 closer to Calhoun Rd. I was one of the four who opposed the relocation.
Staff responses to questions submitted by Aldermen including a scolding from the Mayor:
My Opinion: I was opposed to the relocation of the Moorland Rd. Station #3 to Greenfield and Calhoun. This new location would leave residents on the far southeast side with response times far greater than current response times to the southwest side. In addition, I feel the current location of Station #3 best serves our largest demand (Bluemound Rd. and Brookfield Square area) and I-94 (70% of all calls). I fear the relocation recommendation is a short term fix for a continually growing and more urbanized city.
